coming back to work. A 5" nail . Now I have to get the tire irons out and patch it. Or maybe just replace the tube (spoke rims).

And it's 100ish today.[:'(]

I had my bike in the shop today replacing a tire with a 2" nail.
New tire, tube and liner - $280!
My life - Priceless!

Sorry about your tire.

I would be carefull on the patch job. I have patched motorcyle tires and replaced tubes, howeer only when the whole was extremely tiny, but it sounds like you got a pretty good size hole in yours, If you can swing it I would replace the tire and tube, or for sure the tube. No way would I ride on a patched tube. There isnt a alot of room for error when I tire goes down on a bike at highway speed.

So friggin true. I know for a fact I wouldn't patch the tube, and I would look very carefully at the tire.

Good Luck in which ever way you go
