Default 11.5" Bagger Shocks

For anyone who's running 11.5" shocks on their bagger, how do you like them? I'm looking at dropping the rear of my '04 Road King a little, air shocks or regular shocks, no real preference. I've already installed a pair of Street Glide type 12.5" shocks, but would like a little more drop if it won't kill the ride quality.

I'm just looking for an opinion on how your ride is, lousy, not so bad, pros and cons. I don't ride 2-up much and I'm only about 170 so I don't need anything heavy duty.

I'm sure you've considered this, but anything that drops your bike will reduce your lean angle. If you're scraping floorboards now, that will just get worse.

I put a set of 11.5" progressive 440's on my RKC. They ride ok. Not as plush as stock, but considering I can flat foot when I stop now, it works for me.

You could consider 12" and split the difference, you probably would not see that much of a drop in comfort with them.

I tried lowering brackets, and the 440's are a big upgrade from stock shocks with the brackets.

11.5 440HD's, 20k on em and I still love them. It took a bit of adjusting to find the balance I was looking for, love the slammed look front and back. But it will reduce the lean angle a lot...

I have em. Progressives front and rear. It's a much stiffer ride than stock but the bike corners very well. It gives' the bike a great lowered look.

I had my stock shocks cut down 1.5 inches by Bitchin Baggers. I have an 09 Ultra. They will bottom out when I hit a bump, but I'm hearing other guys experiencing the same problem with their stock shocks. I think the comfort level is just fine and I have not yet scraped my boards. I will add that I don't ride aggressive though.

I have Progressive 11.5 440 HD's (Heavy Duty) and I love them, like some else said took a little time to dial them in just right, but I couldn't be happier.

Very nice to be able to flat foot at stop lights. Also have a progressive drop up front with a lowered fender from Native Customs Baggers really like the slammed look....

Oh yeah I ride a 07 RK Custom......

If you go with Progressive, you will not need the HD model. That would ride too stiff for you at your weight.

There is another thread I saw today, but can't find it, on Penske shocks, you might want to check them out also. Have been hearing good things.

Also, at that ride height you will lose some lean angle. I scrape my boards a lot easier now than at std. height.
