Default Attatching Pad to Sissy Bar.. Is this right?

Is it really just the pad on one side and the star trek looking chrome piece on the other and the 3 screws pull the two tight enough together to hold it in place? I got everything tightened up and just a hard smack with my fist knocks it right down... I know a pic would help but can't right now..

hold on bud, let me go look at mine

EDIT....yeah, its held together by pressure it looks like, but the back of the pad is indented to match the top of the sissy bar, if that makes sense. Its kind of channelled if you will......

Yep that's it. There is actually a groove inside of the padding that the bar should rest in.

Yup, pretty much it, seems like there were some inserts to put in the back rest and tighten it up

Yeah forgot to mention those things. There were 2 sets with mine. Not sure what one set was for (actually read the directions though).

Thanks guys.. Yea i did use the inserts. Maybe I should upgrade the rear mounting plate to the one pictured above. Mine is just flat, doesn't have the "groves" to grab the bar itself. That might inspire a little more confidence for me.

HD made these to hold if put together correct.I have done it without spacers and it is still holds fine just dont over-tighten....Spacers are there to keep backrest from bending and pulling on T-nuts inside backrest pad. These are built very well!!!Unless you want to spend the extra cash for the bling(and i LIKEY the add-on)don't think you need it!!!I have YET to hear a complaint about backrest pad.....But now that you bring it up im sure the O'lady would have a thing or two to say.....But doesn't she always....LOL.......Don't sweat the small stuff.....
