Can i get any instructions on how to remove the fly by wire on my 09 glide, i want to change handlebars, and does anyone know of any tool that i can put aronund the eletrical pins om hand controls so thati may put wires thru the bars thanks
Gently pull throttle sensor out of bar until you see a little green clip. Disconnect that clip and pull the rest of the way out. Pull the other end out from the bottom of the bar. If internally wiring bars, 32310-08 sensor for internally wired bars works better because it doesn't have the green clip. Make a color chart for the wires to re-wire the connector. As for a tool, wrap in electrical tape and use some lube like WD-40 and tie a nut on a string to get through the bar, then tie the other end to the wires and pull them through.
Thanks dawg, where can i get the sensor that you suggested? And correct if im wrong you are saying all i have to do is wrap male end of electrical pin. Wd 40 then pull out of main connector? Is there enough room in terminal block for this?
Dealer will have/can order the 32310-08. You will need to take the pins out of the connector using a paper clip or similar tool, then wrap the pins in electrical tap and pull them through the new bar. Then reinstall in the connector
