Default Vance and Hines Power Duals

Thinking of putting on some V & H power duals to replace the stock headpipes and wondering if it's worth it. Already have the monster ovals, a/c, and tts. Anybody have these power duals installed and see a difference from stock? Will I need to re tune the tts?

According to Fuel Moto....no gain seen on the 09s from changing the head pipes......not worth the money.

HD got it right in 09...so they change it in 2010. Go figure.

I was ready to lay the cash down for the power dual when I picked up my RK a couple weeks ago and the dealer was kind enough to tell me that they have seen no, I mean no power increases with the power duals. Saved me almost $800 (cdn) That's the kind of advice that I can really appreciate. They could've lied and I'd be non-the-wiser.

the power duals head pipe will give about a 2-3 hp increase over stock and will keep the bike running cooler.

the mufflers are what makes the hp though, monster ovals are the biggest hp gainers in the dual family usually making 6-8 over stock

if you are ever under a 2009 touring bike look at the cross "under" pipe and you will notice how restrictive it is on the motor. the pipe almost looks like it was crimped to fit through the bracket.

the power duals are more open and allow 45% flow out the left side the stock head pipe only flows about 15% out the left side

i have them on my 09 with no complaints

I have them and if I were given a choice again I wouldn't install them. Don't get me wrong they are a fine exhaust but the hp gain is minimal and they were a major PITA for me to install.

I paid $350.00 for V&H Duals and it sure looks better and runs cooler.. If I lost any power was so slight didn't even notice it .. I ride hard..

i've been trying to find out the asnwer to this same question. i talked to a V&H guy at sturgis this year and he said there "wasn't much" difference between the power duals and stock. he wasn't really even trying to sell them to me, he was more focused on selling me the fuel pak.

judging by the response on this thread, i think i'll pass.
