Default 96" motors in 2003 anniversary models?

I have a 2003 anniversary edition RK Classic that I bought from the original owner about 2 years ago. Seems that this bike runs extremely strong compared to others that I ride with with stock 88" motors. I steadily pull away from everyone when we all get on it through the gears. Someone told me the other day that they thought HD put 96" motors in their anniversary models in 2003.
This would sure explain this situation to me....can anyone confirm this or is this just not true. I have no reason to believe that this motor has had any work done to it. Thanks for any input here.

OK, now I'm confused. My bike is the Black & Silver anniversary edition with the 100th Logo tank emblem....might that make a difference?

The 100th anniversary models were still the 88" motors. It may have a BigBore kit making it 95", it might have different exhaust which will affect things differently, could have any number of performance upgrades, but the stock motor was 88"

Yeah, what hdrider2002 said.
I know when I bumped up my 88 ci to a 95 it made a noticeable difference.

100th Anniversary FLHRCI Road King® Classic
This is the style that roamed the American highways of a half century ago. Wide whitewalls around laced wheels. Full fenders. Headlight as big as a melon. It roams still today, in the form of a Road King® Classic. Complete with fender tip emblems, tooled leather seat and leather-wrapped hard saddlebags. But memory lane isn't where you'll find it. The open road is its home, thanks to the touring credentials it carries. Fuel-injected Twin Cam 88® engine, detachable windshield, air-adjustable rear suspension, cruise control, roomy floorboards, refined chassis. And a comfortable seat that makes you feel like going another tank or two at the end of a day's ride. Just in case you needed any more incentive.

OK then. I guess it's possible that this motor had a big bore kit installed then as there is no mistake that this bike will definitely out run all my riding buddies with stock 88's. Even when I am two up with my wife and they are single riders. Thanks for the info.
