First, of course I have a 03RK 100 ann bike and yes I love it.

But - unless your an idiot, and many are, staying in the 4K+ rpm range will blow away the gunts. They are thinking tractor and I am thinking red-line.

The truth is probably in the middle - but damn, 70+ in 3rd, 80+ in 4th and 100+ in 5th with power to burn. Now I am waking up to a 98" kit and 30+ to each number.

Wink

Is it carb or FI? My '03 carbed RK ran really strong (when the electronic ignition wasn't crappin' out, that is).

I dont know if the first owner had did the 95ci kit or anything else but my fatboy can burn up a 09 road king classic with the 96ci.
I do have alot of upgrades on my bike but I haven't done anything to the motor yet..
So I also dont know what's inside the motor but it runs like hell fire.. I am looking to change to a Andrews 555 -777 not to sure yet .. I already have the air intake and drag pipes but I might change to the d&d 2nto1..

This is before i added the onetouch hard bags

My 2003 FLHTCI had a 95" big bore kit, SE203 cams, slip ons and intake. Bought it used from the dealer in 2006. I was looking at the exact same bike, same price, same mileage at two different dealers, both supposedly stock.

Bought this one. Found out later that it had cams and the big bore kit, dealer had no clue, bonus for me

Oops..... got sucked into an old thread!

But, FWIW.... I believe other than the 2003 CVO Road King that introduced the 103" Twin Cam engine, and the 2003 Deuce that came with a 95" Twin Cam engine, all the others came from the factory with 88" engines...

I have an '03 Ultra classic anniversary edition.. 88 ci engine. When I got it, it was completely stock, and honestly it was a bit of a pooch. I had the exhaust replaced with S&S dual headers Cobra Mufflers and put a Dynojet Power Vision tuner on it and had it tuned. Off the line it is very disrespectful to my brothers 08 Ultra Peace officer edition with a stock 96" motor. His has a six speed transmission so eventually he catches up and pulls away from me with the extra gear.

My point is even without any engine work just a little bit of exhaust tweaking and some programming will really wake these 88' motors up. You say it's got stage one exhaust and intake. It was probably re-tuned after that install. It doesn't take much to wake the 88' up especially compared to a completely untouched 88" or even an untouched 96".
