I have no idea what was available in Canada, but you could upgrade the 88 a or b model by increasing the bore only (jugs and pistons) to 95" with SE parts. You could upgrade an 88 to 103" by increasing stroke at the same time with SE parts.

The 96" motors have the longer stroke that that was required to go from 88" to 103" in the past. That's why a bigger bore only will take you to 103" with the 96" motors.

There. I should have added plenty to the confusion now.

OKAY DAMMIT, now I'm confused...
How can a 2003 be a 100 year anniversary bike and a 2005 be a 15th year anniversary?

2003 was the 100th anniversary of HD. 2005 was the 15th anniversary of the FATBOY model.

In 2003 I bought a 100th anniversary FLHTI (88ci). Put pipes and the stage 1 kit on it. Ran very strong.
Now I have a 2006 FLHTPI. Same motor supposedly. Noticeably less power. Even compared to the '03 when it was stock.

That's exactly the point of my original question. For some reason my 2003 Anniv RKC with only pipes and A/C seems to run circles around all my riding buddies with 02-08, models (heritage, ultra's, RK's) with the same things done to their motors.
Hence my question as to whether or not these anniv motors were hopped up a bit because it sure appears to me that my bike runs much stronger than others.
Hey, maybe I just got a fast one. I'll leave it at that since by all info here it is only an 88' motor and no good explanation for it's strong performance.

Okay, interesting little history lesson today.
I knew most of this, but the 2005 Fat Boy having a 95" is new to me.
It doesn't matter to me, but it's always nice to know these things.

Yeah I don't have any official dyno numbers or documentation.
But my Seat-Of-The-Pants meter says they built the '03 motors with a little more 'umph...

Not all 2005 Fatboys had the 95" motor. There was the standard model with the 88" motor and the anniversary model that had the 95" motor. It was clearly marked as a 95" anniversary model.

Default 03

Interesting thread I also have a 03 R/K and it runs circles around my riding buddies with there stock 88's bike runs real strong, the only thing I could compare it 2 was my 03 low rider which also ran strong, and yes the low rider would kick the R/K a**.

Seems that there are several 03 owners who are experiencing the same thing....strong running motors with basically a set of pipes and stage 1. Not complaining at all but sure seems there may be something to this.
I'll check with my local HD dealer and see if they have any information as to this situation.
