Default New 2009 Road King Police

So I've been considering a Road King for a while, and when I went to look at the new 2010 bikes today at Ft. Lauderdale Harley, there she was - a bike that just spoke to me.

The bike is a 2009 Road King Police model, with the 103 engine, ABS and oil cooler. Even better, the bike already had many of the components I wanted as part of stock. Black nacele, street glide type rear lights, street glide seat and rims. I think Harley should make a Road King like the Street Glide. The color is black and gray.

Anyway, I traded my 2008 Street Glide for this bike. I might miss the radio, but I definitely prefer being able to take off the wind shield and ride without a fairing.

I've added the flush gas caps already, and I'm getting the black forks put on this week. I still have to decide if I want chrome or black pipes.

Thanks for reading.

That is one bike with lots of potential. I can't wait to see what you will have done to her over the next year. She is going to be one sweet lookin ride!

I bought a police RK because I wanted to do a bunch of customization anyway, it was 7k cheaper than a standard road king (only had 2,200 miles on it), and already had a 103 engine upgrade, oil cooler, abs, and upgraded electrics.

I think the RK police bikes are an excellent platform to build a custom out of. Looking forward to seeing updated picks of your scoot.

Dig your scoot.

I bought a police RK this summer (07 model). It was considerably cheaper than a civilian model, had the 103 and 6 speed, and abs. What's not to love. Whatever i wound up buying, I was planning to paint in the same color scheme as my hot rod, so finding a bike with a couple of dings and a few miles on it made a lot of sense for me.

..... that looks to be the same color scheme as the Colorado State Patrol bikes. I love the look of those scooters ....... just not pulled up behind me !
