See my note above about the new part number. All kits now have the oil-pan adapter, so you don't need to worry about the operation of the oil cooler since the temperature is read in the pan. That's a good place to read it, as the hot oil from the engine is returned directly to the pan.

thanks ICLICK.. damm. i already ordered from Zanotti's without the A ( new part number) can the oil pan adapter be ordered seperatly ? or would u know if they will all come with the oil pan adapter. i wrote to HD and i recvd no reply. I called my dealer and they didnt know either.

I ordered mine with the old part number and received the new number with the adapter. The only problem I had was that the mounting ring that came with the new gauge would not work so I had to mod.the factory mounting ring.

Like Missile suggested, if you haven't received the kit yet take a look when you get it. The new "A" kit is supposedly replacing the old part number, so maybe you will get the adapter with the kit, as it's been out for at least a few weeks. If not, I got mine from Napa, part #3220 x 6 x 2 (1/8F-3/8M) for about $2.

just got my oil temp guage mine dosent have the A at the end.. the dirrections say to remove the fuel tank.. shows mounting the temp sensor in the oil return line vs. in the oil tank.. anyone want to send me the new directions.. I can get the addaptor from napa.. just not sure where to start. my bike dosent even have the oil lines shown where the directions show to mount the temp sensor, I'm sure it will work just thought if anyone has the new directions it would help
