i just ordered the fairing oil temp gauge and oil cooler. is there any way that the oil temp will read correclty with the oil cooler installed at all times. HD manual says it will not read correctly untill the oil cooler's thermostat opens.. any photos where u connected the oil temp pick up sensor on the oil pan.. curious. i might do install myself.

See my note above about the new part number. All kits now have the oil-pan adapter, so you don't need to worry about the operation of the oil cooler since the temperature is read in the pan. That's a good place to read it, as the hot oil from the engine is returned directly to the pan.

I ordered mine with the old part number and received the new number with the adapter. The only problem I had was that the mounting ring that came with the new gauge would not work so I had to mod.the factory mounting ring.
thanks ICLICK.. damm. i already ordered from Zanotti's without the A ( new part number) can the oil pan adapter be ordered seperatly ? or would u know if they will all come with the oil pan adapter. i wrote to HD and i recvd no reply. I called my dealer and they didnt know either.
