6.5 speakers

I'm using Polk MM-651 6.5", 2.7Ω coaxials, marine-grade. Since they aren't 4Ω like most replacement speakers, I can get a way without an amp. Plenty of volume without distortion even at highway speed.
I should also add that if you're keeping the rear speakers on a UC like I did, the rear 2Ω pair will be louder than the front, but a slight adjustment with the fader will even things out nicely.

Without an amp install a lot of speakers will make you happy. You can use 4 ohm speakers if it is a 06 or newer. you can go up on ohms but not down in ohms.
Before my am install I have tried several different speakers which were:
Memphis over size
Alpine spr's
Titan
All were good with out an amp, ones I added the biketronics 180 watt amp I stuck with the titan speakers
you must remember you will lose some volume with the 4 ohm speakers but have more usable volume with a much better clarity in sound. The closer you get to 2 ohm speakers the better volume. The titans which are 3 ohm had better volume than the alpines but the memphis had better volume than the titans.

I will probably upgrade to a nicer set of components later, but for now this setup is a major improvement over stock.
