Default Detachable Tour Pack Rack

Just got all my parts for the quick release rack from harley. Put a fairing relocate power antenna in now trying to put on docking kits. The instructions are very confusing . I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these themselves and if you have any tips.

good luck, I hope it is not to bad, I just ordered my rack yesterday. I had the front docking kit installed with my sissybar/backrest by the dealer. I hope the rear docking kit & rack are not to bad....

I did mine and didn't have any problems. You are probably going to have to have a different license bracket. I used the HD laydown bracket for mine.

Since you have the hard saddle bags on yours, you probably don't need to use the saddle bag spacers that come with the kit. From what I can tell, they are just for the leather bags that come on the Roadking Classics. The spacer part of the insturctions was a little confusing to me until I realized that I didn't need them. With the leather bags, they have to sit further from the frame to open with the tour pac on.

I suggest that you do the docking, and put the rack on and get it fitted right before you mount the tour pac onto the rack. If you have the tour pac on it is pretty heavy, and makes any adjustment hard. That was the only problem I had.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bill

Were exactly are you having problems? I installed it on my bike. The only problem I ran into was installing the brackets in the rear. I upload a couple of pics (hope it works?). Maybe it can give you an idea. Good Luck...Ed
