I've got SE II's on mine right now, but at 7000 miles they seem to be getting louder. I'm thinking about going back to stock, but would like a little more sound. Can I drill or punch out the baffles on an 06 Heritage ? I thought I read somewhere that the bottom muffler with the
catalytic converter couldn't be punched out. I don't want it loud, just a little more noise to make it easier to hear the motor when going through the gears.

Still have the stock pipes on mine. Don't need the noise, have an air horn for that. After ten hours in the saddle even the stock pipes seem too loud.

I still have stock pipes. I put them in the box that my Vance&Hines pipes came in.

Still stock and stayin' stock. I like the way they look and I like the way they sound. Nice to be able to hear my stereo system, too.

Wonder if anyone has any information regarding 07 SE pipes part numbers 64985-07 (Requires end caps) and 80491-07 which are slash down slip ons. The parts manual doesn't really say anything about the difference between the two. Interested in information on sound level, ease of installation, pros/cons one versus another, etc. Looking to replace pipes on 07 FLHRC. Also, if anyone know's if it's safe/what to expect with just replacing pipes, no A/C or SERT? Thanks for any info.

Picking up an '07 SG next week. It's staying stock.

I buy a bike to ride, not profile. Loud pipes are an unnecessary distraction.

Stock for 10,000 miles and switched to Rinehart Racing 2 into 1. Nice growl when I get into the throttle but quiet enough to hear the radio at cruise. Seems I am seeing a lot more 2 into 1's on baggers lately.

I'm still running stock pipes, got an 06 with 12,000 miles on it and could hear the radio( stock also) for every inch. I wanted loud ,,I would have bought a sporty and put drag pipes on it ( I may still do that one of these days)
