Default Air Shock Pressure

I find adjusting air shock pressure on my 09 Road King difficult. It goes way up easily and then when I bleed it out it goes down to nothing. Any similar experiences or is something wrong?

Question: what type or what kind of air pump are you using?

I use the HD air pump and it makes it very easy to get the pressure I want.

Please tell us you are not using an air compressor to add air to your shocks and then pushing in on the valve core with a small object to bleed air out....................

If so, just get the hd air pump and your problems will go away, unless you have already blown your seals from using an air compressor.

Is there just air in the shocks and lines or is there some type of hydraulic fluid?

There is oil in the shocks which will migrate into the air lines if that's what you mean.

Default Air Pressure

I used a home compressor with a regulator set to low pressure. Adjusted it to 10 lbs about a month ago and there is still 10 lbs in the system (air gauge check) which (I guess) means nothing blew since it's holding pressure. Going to go the pump route.

Use the HD pump. Cost is about $46 or so, but it is what you need.
