After my last crash, me and a buddy dragged my bike outta the woods and back onto the road.

Straightened out the handlebars and the levers, went back into the woods to find my glasses and away I went.

I have a lot of years behind me of riding dirt bikes so crashing isn't too devistating as long as I'm not hurt too bad and the bike is fairly operational.

Broke 3 ribs in a crash 6 days and 341 miles after I got the bike. Got back on as soon as the shop called and said it was ready. I'm not an aggressive rider, but I felt myself being more aware of my surroundings (or lack therof) afterward.

I was only 15yrs old when I had my 1st real bad spill, walked away with alot of road rash on my legs, arms and hands. As soon as the bike got back together I was right back on it riding. I too am still a little more cautious than I was before the wreck.

Two years ago I high sided and broke a rib and cracked another during a panic stop. I was way out in the middle of nowhere, about two hours from home, and an hour from the nearest hospital. Took 4 aspirin and got on the bike and rode it home. Hell, it only hurt when I hit a bump. Or slowed down. Or sped up, or breathed...

Didn't ride again for three weeks while the bike was being fixed, but got right back on.

Those lingering doubts about panic stops made it easy to justify trading my bike for an 09 with ABS though.

Went down on a Kawasaki 125 doing about 50, No helmet, stoned and drunk when I was 18 and didn't ride again for 20+ years. I was partying way to much back then to be riding on the streets safely.

I hit a deer and went down hard. Got up and my wife was hysterical (she was following me on her own bike). I went to pick up the bike (to ride home) and discovered that my left shoulder was not functioning (broen collar bone and shoulder blade).
About a week later I went for a ride on a different bike. Looked strange since my left arm was still in a sling. I could move it but it hurt like hell to reach the clutch.

Hi Charrell
It was on February 09 with my FXSTD 2000, treated Lady Blue, at Rio de Janeiro.
I rode after 45 days that seemed 45 years.
Warm regards

John

Had an pretty bad accident in March after a cage too a left in font of me on main road I was doing about 30 - 45 by the time I was tossed from the bike. Spent 5 days in the hospital 3 of them in ICU with a partially collapsed lung, had 3 broken ribs and a broken collar bone. And a small amount of road rash on the knees and side where the jacket road up. Bike had $9,500 worth of damage including needing a new frame so complete rebuild ( of course there were upgrades that were added to that). Was up and riding in just over 8 weeks but would have been sooner but can't ride with out the bike.
