Nice looking sled, congrats!

I'm about to swap my '07 Ultra on a '10 as well. Got a 2 week trip to do first... I didn't think I wanted to be a Beta tester for H-D's latest on a cross-country trip, especially when the dealers aren't familiar with 'em yet. Every year it's always something.

I've seen reports that the heat from the collector where the catalyst resides just ahead of the O2 sensors is 100 degrees hotter than the '09s without cats. I'd be interested in your perception of heat. I went to true duals, TMax, heat deflectors..... you name it... on the '07 and the heat rolling off the rear cylinder was still a killer on a hot day in traffic. When I rode the '09s it appeared rerouting the exhaust did a great deal to get rid of that. Just wondering what your experience is thus far?

It's hot, I had the Tru-Duals on my 07, I don't think it is as hot as that. I rode another 25 miles tonight and although I could tell it was hot, it was not unbearable, the heat deflectors and re-routing of the pipes seems to have helped. It was about 95 degrees here today and the ride was ok, I am pretty happy with the bike.

That's a good omen. At times my '07 had me thinking I had blisters raising on my thighs regardless of all I did to try and cool it off. This is the first bike I've ever had that I really don't look forward to trading in. However, the stabilizer band-aid just doesn't compare to the new frames and the ABS and 6-gallon tank are major draws. Only one place I chose not to go with the 5 gal cuz it was 175 miles between gas and desolate. 6 oughta do the trick next time I'm in that neighborhood. What kind of fuel mileage have you been seeing this early in the program?

As others have mentioned, that's a nice color combo you've got... only one I saw on the Web site that made me look twice. I keep getting Vivid Black over and over and put the identical stuff on it. Many people think I've been riding the same barge for 10 years <g>
