Default 2010 FLTRX VENTED Lowers?????

In the NEW 2010 P&A Catalog it shows (online) VENTED LOWERS for the 2010 FLTRX (Road Glide Custom) Perhaps the moving of the fairing .008 of an inch and angling it was to allow these to fit? I wonder if the 2010 FAIRING BRACKETS can be retro-fitted to my 09 thus making way for HD Vented Lowers?

2010 Road GlideŽ Custom > Color Shop
Color-Matched Vented Fairing Lower Kit

Control the air-flow to your lower legs for maximum riding comfort. These Color-Matched Fairing Lowers feature a venting system that allows you to adjust the amount of air that circulates across the engine. On hot days, open the vent to direct additional cooling air and on cold or rainy days, close the vents for maximum protection from the elements. The ratcheting friction lock pivot allows you to easily set the position. The complete kit includes left and right Fairing Lower, convenient glove box and lid, and all necessary mounting hardware. Glove Box Doors are sold separately. NOTE: Fairing lower kits are painted in a single color and do not feature pinstriping. Fits '83-later Touring and Trike models (except '98-'09 FLTR). Stock on FLHTCU, FLHTK and FLHTCUTG. '10 FLHXSE and FLHXXX models require the installation of Engine Guard P/N 49066-09 or 49050-09, Screw P/N 4924 (2), Washer P/N 6702 (1), Screw P/N 2708A (1). Will not fit with Mustache Engine Guards.

Anybody?

I believe that is why the fairing was moved.....for the FLTRU that is coming. I also believe that you can retrofit the two mounts and the frame to fairing bracket to older models.

The mounts are like $44 each and the fairing bracket is about $75. Not a bad price to get decent fairing lowers to fit.

Can also check out the new headlight bucket and hardened headlight assy to get rid of the bubble while you're at it.

Hey man, do you not like you HoggChopps? They look great and I have heard that they work better than the HD ones and you do not even have to take them off in the summer, not to mention they are much cheaper than the HD ones. Just wondering why you would want to change over to the HD ones?

Thanks

I love my Hogg Chopps, BUT I miss having the glove boxes where I can out my phone, extra glasses and all that other crap that I don't want in the fairing storage.
Also I like the vents, thats why I didn't get the HD lowers no vents.

Question Maybe I'm just not seeing it

I followed the link, and the lowers look exactly like the lowers on my '08 FHLTCU.

To me, the vent is more of a concept that a reality. I can't say that I feel much of a difference between open and closed. Did I miss something there?

I love mine. The gloveboxes are the key to the puzzle. Will really need to see if the 2010 parts will fit back to 2007. Ready to add sharknose to my bike.(shark week on discovery channel)

Took the lowers off of my tri glide and tried to put them on my new FLTRX. They will fit under the fairing but the part of the fairing cap that fit on the engine guard is to long and would have to be cut off. It hits the bracket that goes from the engine guard to the inside of the fixed fairing. Hope this makes senses.
