Did some looking into this. The new caps for 2010 have a shorter arm that will not work. You will eather need to cut this material or order new caps from the dealer. As for the older bikes. If you change to the new mounting brackets it looks like the fairing lowers will work with the change to the fairing cap.

Does anyone know the part # for the fairing support arms for the 2010? I'd like to order some and see if they will work.

Default Part#s

I did some research and here are the part#s to lift the fairing on an '09 RG so you can use vented lowers. Prices are Zanotti's

Faring Mount Bracket: 58530-10 $49.63
L/S Lower Mount: 58454-10 $32.54
R/S Lower Mount: 58460-10 $32.54

I can't see anything else that would be needed.

Default vented lowers

I have a set of lowers that I had on my 2002 flht, and they dont come close to fitting the 2010 FLTRX. I went to my buddy with a 2007 ultra and tried his, left side fit but the cap was to long and hit the fairing support, the right side would need some triming near the bottom by the brake master cylinder.

So the vented lower fairings that are available on the P&A catalog will not fit the FLTRX....... Great, I've got a set on order from Zanotti's.

I'd like to hear how this works out. From the catalog it sure looks like the new vented lowers will work on the FLTRX. I had planned to pick some up for my new bike... might need to wait until this is figured out for sure.

Hmm this could get interesting. Sounds like there might be a fitament issue here.

vtwinbmx: I'm a little confused here. You say the new caps for 2010. But the lowers do not have new part numbers and they are still supposed to fit the 2010 FLTRX.

I do not want to miss lead you, the ones I tried were from a 2007, harley may have made changes to make them fit, and the new ones will retro fit on older bikes.
