I know you're looking for a half helmet, but I found a great deal for the HJC AC-3 Carbon on eBay. I received it last week and I'm very pleased. I'm going to order a face shield for riding in the cold/rain. Do a search, there are still some left at $175. It's a very lightweight helmet, the pads are easily removed to wash, and it's got good ventalation.

I second on the HJC model. Nice helmet and you can have a front shield as well for poor weather.

I have a Daytona carbon fiber half helmet and it has been great. I recommend getting one with snaps on the front so you can carry shields in case it rains.

That reminds me of a guy I used to work with that talked very slooooowww.
He was asked to explain something in a meeting once, and as He started winding up His slow drawl, a buddy leaned over to me and said "I sure would hate for Him to be the one to inform me that my house was on fire".
I lost it!

This is an old post - after the big recall ACC had -http://www.motorcycle.com/news/helmet-maker-ordered-to-stop-making-helmets-89480.html - I'm not sure they are in business any longer
