Default HD Fueler vs PCIII

My local HD dealer is suggesting that I install the HD Fueler instead of the PCIII. According to them the HD fueler can be modified on the Dyno, is this true? Is anyone using the HD fueler? If I install the PCIII does it void any warranty? If you are using PCIII does your dealer put the blame of any problems towards the PCIII? Why does my dealer not like the PCIII is it only because they do not sale the PC?

I am not planning any engine upgrades, only exhaust and air intake. But would like to have it Dyno'ed at a later date when the mod's are finished.

New Harley owner looking for advice

I've had the PC III on my bike for over two years now and no problems so far. The PC III can be customized on the dyno too. I'm not sure about warranty issues. I'm going to guess that your dealer is steering you away from it cause he ain't making any $$$. Most of the guys on here are using the PC III and swear by it. I say find another dealer.

Doug,

Your bike looks real sharp. What handle bars do you have? This is my first HD, I have an 06 Road King. Not real happy with the handle bars, shoulder pain after about 200 miles. Never had this before. I had ridden several 4,000 miles plus trips over a 7 or 10 period.

Just had the HD SERT installed on my 06 Ultra, man what a difference. Dealer did a hell of a job tuning it in on the dyno. With Stage 1 and a set of Rinehart SO's I producing 77.9 HP and 84.3 FPT. Like riding someone elses bike. I've heard the PCIII can be set up on a dyno too. Lot of people swear by it.

Go with the PCIII. All Harley pushes is too just add $$$ into already deep pockets. Besides, you can get on the PCIII website and download a map that will get your bike running great. Not 100% necessary to have the bike dynoed which saves you another $200-300.

I am picking up a 05 UC in two weeks. I know it has Stage 1 and V&H slip ons. Can you have this set up without the PCIII or the HD SERT? If it doesnt have it, what do I get by adding this??

Need a little more info here, but it sounds like this might have been tuned already. A PCIII or SERT would allow some tweaking if you don't like how it runs, and if it wasn't tuned properly you might get some better numbers out of it.

The main benefit to having a PCIII or a SERT is that you can make adjustments on the fly, without having to go into the dealer and throw down $150 every time you make a change (although with the SERT, it almost sounds like you need a degree to tune it!)

I put on a set of Thunderheaders on my Glide in Feb, and a PCIII with the preset map for my setup (SE A/C, THeaders, stock motor and cams) and it runs great! I plan on new cams by the end of the summer, and hopefully a 95" build by the end of the year, and I can make changes as I see fit, as opposed to taking it to a dealer or shop everytime.
