Stretched bags w/stock SG rear fender
#11
I plan on installing the Harley extensions on my 2009 SG. Just paint and install, comes with all the hardware and matches up to the facia of the SG. Just my 2cents... By the way, I have a Pewter Silver that I'm currently going to blacken out, I like want you did to yours. I plan on doing the wrinkle black engine kit now available thru the 2010 catalog.

They are and Zanotti has them listed for $1050. That is certainly an option and lots of compelling reasons to do it; factory matched paint, I believe full bags, hardware and lids, (may be wrong about that, but not a big deal either way), they aren't over priced by any means at even $1200 painted, they do match up nicely to the stock SG rear fender, BUT I still don't think they are perfect in appearance. The gradual slant is kind of cool but somehow doesn't look perfect to me. It does it's job by covering the gap between the bag and the rear tire, (brake rotor), but it's almost a bit too subtle for the money. Maybe if I saw them on something other than the 10 SG CVO I'd appreicate them more. I was not impressed with that bike. The 09 RG CVO has much more pop to it. There just much about the SG CVO like IMO. Oh yeah...can't believe I forgot...the main reason is they don't offer a 2-1 cut out option. That amazes me since the 10 SG and RG's are 2-1 pipes and would be the likely buyers for the CVO bags. I suppose one could fill in the cut out, but now we're talking more expense and paint match issues.

Those look perfect. I've seen it a bunch of times. I thought it was a full bag, but it's an extension. It's shown and listed on Bad Dads site. If the bonding, painting etc could be done for $600 or so, and I could count on the extension being done very well, I'd do it.
There is another option for custom full 2" bags according to the guy at www.topshopcarbon.com. I have no idea of the quality but the price is good.

I went with a longer fender and kept the bags the stock length. Although I like the stretched bags, I tend to like the 2" ones better. I could see myself getting the HD longer one piece bags someday, I like the bottom angle. Think it would look good with a paint job similiar to the 09 SERG.

I have been very happy with the Bad Dad products on my RG. On the new RG I may go a little simpler with the extensions only and a shorter fender to show off the 180. The complete set of Baddad stuff off my RG will be for sale shortly if anyone is interested (stretched tank, bags, rear fender, side covers and RG outer fairing) all in deep cobalt. Pics are in my album. I`m putting the bike back to stock for trade-in and sans the HQ120
