Default HD oil temp gauge

Are there any Glide owners that has bought and installed the HD brand oil temp gauge that mounts in the instrument panel in place of another gauge? If so, are you happy with the outcome? Was it worth the money and installation? Where did you install the temp sensor? Any problems? How about running with an oil cooler? I had a issue with some hot oil on a recent road trip with my 08" EGC. With this, I am waiting to install an oil cooler and am also considering the temp gauge. Thanks in advance.

If you install the oil cooler you will not need the gauge. Most that add the gauge can not keep their eyes off of it.
I added the cooler and got the gauge to install and after hearing how it draws you attention I never installed it.
If you do a search you will see a lot of posts about it.

If you really want one send me a pm I have 1 new never installed with the fitting for the oil pan, $75 shipped

Most people seem to have better luck with these than the HD brand.

Yes DD, I have read where the oil temp gauge will draw a lot of your attention. Wasn't too sure what to think about that. Sure wouldn't want to be worried about that all the time and not enjoying the rides. I have the HD digital dipstick temp sensor and it pretty much is a piece of crap. The oil level read quit working in less than a year. And now the actual oil temp readout is starting to act erratic. Although I have heard where some have had good luck with them. Thanks.

I have had one for a few years and don't think it draws your eyes to it any more than any other gauge. It just nice to see how hot things get. Mine never went over 258* that was in traffic on the bridge in ST Louis it was 99*.

I had one on my Ultra and the thing hardly worked at all. It would not give you a reading until you got hot. It was a big time waste of money for me. You may have different results.
