Default HD Ultra Headsets???

New to this bike communications deal... I'm wondering if the HD headsets will work with DOT 1/2 shell helmets? What's your setup? Pics welcome... Something better out there in the market than the HD setup? I've seen ppl riding with built-in commincations (not HD) on 3/4 helmets but the wife and I only have 1/2 shells...

I modified my Ultra headsets to work with the half helmets. HD sells little pouches that will hold the ear buds and push up inside between the shell and styro of the helmets. Works well. HD also just came out with their half helmet communication setup which is the same as the cheaper one that everybody uses.

Here's a LINK to the cheaper one. Again, HD now sells them too.

I bought the bike 2 weeks ago and I have 2 brand new headsets in the box... I looked at them and the velcro earpieces and thought how the fug is that gonna work with a 1/2 shell...??? I can see that you can install the earpieces inside a 3/4 or full but not a 1/2?

Dawg, do you have a pic?

Thanks

I do have pics, but I think they are stored on my home computer. If you go to HD's website and search for communication pouch you will see the pouches that HD sells. They come in pairs so you would have to buy two sets.

Actually, click HERE and scroll down and see one of my pics, but it's not the one that shows the pouches

I use the IMC HS-H40U Helmetless Headset. Works with/without half helmet. Sound quality is sufficient.

You'd need to get the intercom set up, etc. like on the ultra. HD has a kit in the P&A book. Then you'd need the radio flashed to recognize it.
