velcro your regular control to the bike somewhere. work every time. don't need it take it with.

 

Check the wiring of the transmitter in the fairing. Mine had a loose connection and would not open the door. Re-stored the connection and as was fine.

 

I keep my remote in the left outside mounted pouch of the lower leg fairing. Shown here is the pouch mounted on the right side.
