Default Cash for clunkers

I was in a Harley Davidson dealership yesterday and asked if a motorcycle qualified for this program. They couldn't answer me! The program states that the vehicle has to be a passenger VEHICLE or truck. Can't a motorcycle carry a passenger? Now that they are coming out with $2 billion more dollars for this hugly successfull program, I would love to rid myself of a gas thirsty clunker for a more fuel efficient 2010 Harley at $4500 off sticker. Thoughts?

They also state the vehicle must get a combined mileage of 18mpg or less. Would think that would rule most bikes out.....
Or did I misunderstand? Are you asking can you trade an old vehicle in and get money off of a bike?

Well first off...
The dealers have to apply to be a registered "cash for clunkers" dealer.

Motorcycles aren't included but if they were, who says you couldn't trade in that 1984 Town Car on a bike?

I read today that the program has already ran out of money and it will be discontinued.

I do believe they've piled lots more funding into this program today.

It's by far the best "stimulus" package to be put out thus far.

And BEST OF ALL, you and I are paying for it with borrowed money that we'll print today and pay tomorrow! Ain't it great to have your own dollar printer?!?

The put 2 billion more into it today I believe. Was tempted to trade in the 92 F150 but decided not too.

I was laughing when they said it ran out of money and it might now get more funds. I was telling my girlfriend that it figures the ONE stimulis plan that is working, is going to get sidelined.
