Two words: AFTERMARKET!!! (well I guess that's only one word, maybe if I hyphenated it.....)
Sell the HK POS on Ebay, you'll probably get $6-800 for it, and buy a Sony deck with a biketronics kit for $400 or so.
Yes, I'm a little biased, but I like my setup!

I wouldn't pay $5 for one of those pieces of HK crap.

Actually I think that "mute" function is the wrong term. When this happens a set of headphones appear, so I'll call it "headphones mode" instead. It's just like you have a set of headphones installed. The external speakers get muted and the sound is piped through the headphones instead. Looks like I'll be paying my dealer a visit. Man I hate that. My wife has to follow me 75 miles in her car to pick me up after dropping off the bike. Then we have to drive 75 miles back home, then we do it all over again a few days later to pick up the bike. Thats 150 miles on the bike and 300 miles in the car just to have the dealer look at my bike. 75 bucks worth of gas plus several hours worth of driving for my wife. Oh well, at least the dealer's not a 200 miles away!

My problem is lock up display and no sound about every 5 or 6 starts.
Sometimes I start bike radio comes on but no sound. Push in rh channel control button normally brings sound back. Or push up /down like changing stations.
Noticed in the up / down correction, the station changes, but the display stays locked on the original station.
Just another malfunctioning POS from HD that they claim is normal.
Kinda like the air temp gauge.
Was 80 degrees the other day and gauge was pegged.
