its OK

you're going to get wet, but at least it won't be pounding on you.

Feet and knees get wet first (with little precipitation) then every thing else!
The fairings and windshield do a good job keeping the BB gun shots from hitting you.
But like stated above - if it's coming down, you're gonna get wet!

I have been caught in rain many many times and a couple of down pouring rain. With my lower fairing on All I really need is my rain jacket. My knees only will get wet if I close the vents. After all if it's raining the engine will still be cool enough because the temp. will drop and the rain will cool the engine some. My boots may get damp but not wet. I do use water prof boots all the time.

I keep my rain jacket and gators in the trunk. Without the lower fairing you will get soaked.

In God we Trust

Rain protection on the Ultra is about the best you'll find in the whole HD lineup.

The only time you will really get wet is when you have to pull over and wait for your buddies to dawn there rain gear.

Wear waterproof boots, gloves, rain suit and a full face helmet and it won't matter what you're riding.

Your still going to need a rain suit! If you have lowers that will help also.

got caught in an hour long deluge on the interstate once and got soaked from head to toe, the fairing does keep the bbs off your hands and the windshield helps with the rain on your face, as I recall the lowers offer some but not much protection. I carry a rain suit with me when the weather looks threatening. In the misty stuff my thighs and shoulders were the only things that got wet.
