Default What to get

I'm partial to a 2 piece rain suit. Any good jacket with a tight neck, double velcro'd flap over the zipper and long enough to come down over the waist line of the pants. Most motorcycle pants I have found only have about a 12 inch zipper at the bottom of the leg. Go to someplace like REI and get pants with full length zippers. MUCH easier to get into.

I have the HD Gore-Tex rain suit and love it. Can ride all day in the rain and stay dry as a bug in a rug.

The fairings and windshield do a good job keeping the BB gun shots from hitting you.
But like stated above - if it's coming down, you're gonna get wet!
What he said! I've actually been pretty impressed, if it's only sprinkling, I really don't even get wet.

I noticed on mine that the front fairing kept the rain bullets from hitting me, but the Bernoulli effect pulled the rain from outside of the fairing and blew it towards the dash. The batwing fairing worked so well at deflecting rain, the rain that was on the windshield wouldn't even blow off!

You still get wet. I have an el-cheapo suit but am thinking about Frogg Toggs. Anyone have experience with these?

I found on my 06 Ultra I'm ok with a rain suit but the rain comes from under the bike and hits me in the chest and then up into my face. Its so bad in my face I can't see at all. So when its raining I have to ride with a full face helmet or I'm riding all but blind.

I have a cheapie 2 piece from walmart...bought it a year ago for a long trip on my old Softail, and have been waiting for it to rip or fall apart, it's still holding up and keeping me dry...and since upgrading to the StreetGlide in February I ride rain or shine every day...

Not as bad as others, but you will need the wet weather gear. My wife and I rode last night at 1000 to Hill city and got poured on all the way.
