SoftDash (foam and surface) is manufactured using the latest materials. Naugahyde (vinyl) is not used. SoftDash is made of 100% TPO (Thermo Plastic Olefin).
TPO is used in many applications, including Automotive, Marine and even roofing materials.
The TPO material is permanently bonded to a stock H-D inner-fairing using industrial adhesive during a proprietary process.
We confidently guarantee the SoftDash free from defects (including delamination and fading) for 10 years (ask a painter for a 10 year warranty).
SoftDash for FLH is $599.00 + core exchange, for FLTR is $699.00 + core.
Gloss paint, admittingly the original 'standard' to 'finish' the inner-fairing is a good looking, easily accomplished upgrade. It does have drawbacks; it reflects both light and heat back to the rider. It scratches, and quality varies upon skill level of painter and materials used. Costs also vary (H-D direct $429.95 primed, $529.95 color-matched for FLH, $795.95 primed, $995.95 color matched for FLTR) Your local painter may paint it, but you'll spend $350.00 for materials alone for a three stage paint at H-D and have your bike down while it's getting painted.
SoftDash, created as an alternative to paint does not reflect light or heat, is scratch resistant and is quality consistent, guaranteed.
