Get a spray bottle and make a soapy solution with water and dishwashing soap, make it extra soapy that way when you spray the entire wheel and tire the soap lays on thick and any leaks will start showing up as growing bubbles. Start with the max air psi, you will be able to sit there and watch the bubble grow, if nothing shows up rotate the wheel to expose the part that was under the fender.

I have a co2 kit- but hate to have to load up the tire with gunk.
I am leaving for sturgis wednesday.

THis is the Slime Compressor small enough to fit in your hand and just pumps air although slime does make a gunk thing too if have a bad flat that will get you home ..What shows in the pic will run on anything thats got 12 volt power..

I was looking at one of these at Walmart the other night. IIRC, it was just under $30.

Slime unit is great. You can use your battery tender lead to power it up.

On the pressure problem I suggest checking the valve cores are tight. You need to find a pressure gauge which works first time! You may have no other problem than that. If you can't find anything suitable ask your dealer what they use.

could be the bead leaking. i agree with checking the tires with a soapy solution or windex.

Thanks for all the help guys- apparently there is not a universal problem with the rims leaking. Otherwise someone would have posted a story besides mine.
After thinking about how I check the pressure- I expect that I am loosing psi just trying to get a reading. (I hope). I will ck em one last time today and try to get a good reading the 1st time.
I am interested in those 80 degee valve stems.

You need a tire gauge with a 90 degree chuck. If you're checking it 5-6 times before getting a good seal, then that is probably the result of the lower air pressure. This is the one I have: http://www.getagauge.com/MotorcycleTireGauges.cfm

No you cant! The plugs are wired opposite from each other, if you try and plug it in you will be blowing fuses.
