09 RG w/PC5 stalled HELP
Saturday I was stuck in stop and go for about 15 minutes, the bike did not feel overly hot but 3 times when I went to start moving the bike quit. Started right back up but the third time had a back fire with a puff of smoke out of the air cleaner. Ran fine after that . I have the fuel moto pkg for 3K miles and could not be happier with how it has gone. Heat has not been an issue and honestly did not feel like it was in that traffic as my leg was not on fire like it was before I got the fuel moto pkg.
Any ideas? I don't want to pull the PCV to bring to dealer for a look see unless it sounds serious. I only had 20 miles or so after that incident but it ran fine.
Thanks for the input...

It is the PCV doing something to your bikes ETIMS.....that's the heat management system that cuts your rear cylinder out. This is a known issue with the PCV and I believe Jamie said he was looking for the fix. For now you can do two things I know of. Either disable the ETIMS by turning the ignition on, turn the kill switch to start, then roll the throttle forward and hold it until your cruise light flashes. Green its on, red its off. The other thing you can do is right before you take off from a light, keep the clutch in and blip the throttle......

This fix is to add some fuel at the 0% throttle position at 750, 1000, and 1250 rpms. I have mine at 6% percent now for both cylinders and when the EITMS kicks in I know, but the when I roll on the throttle it doesn't stumble or quit like it had right after I put the PCV on (blipping throttle would kill it also BTW). I also updated the firmware why I was at it.
I got this from Jamie via email BTW. U will need a windows computer with the software installed for Power Commander. Good time copy your map as a backup also.
