I recently read a post by a member who had modified a Quick Detach Solo Tour Pak rack and used it as a rear fender rack for carrying luggage. I have spent the last hour searching for that thread with no success. Can anyone point me to it? Thanks.

 

I'm thinking of doing something similar. Though my thought was to get an extra tourpak rack for my detachable mount and rig it to mount a milk crate on it. My bike is my year-round transportation so there are times when just getting a bunch of junk in the bike is my goal - such as when shopping, etc. I have the leather tourpak for my RK but the milk crate "rack" is something I'm thinking on.

There are many variations possible, you can bolt just about anything on the rack probably.

 

Well, this guy attached another rack to the detach bracket. It was very sturdy, large enough to carry meaningful luggage and it looked good. Perhaps someone will remember the post and link to it.

 

This is fr older style rack and pad but I just bolted it on and works fine for me, can pack enough for OL and me plus I just unhook straps and can be unloaded in seconds.
