Default GPS Recommendations???

I'm considering buying a GPS for the Ultra. I'm not a fan of the on-board system (plus too much $$$).

I would like something that has mp3 playback capabilities, and a good bike friendly, user interface.

I know there are a lot of folks that are recommending the Zumo 660. Anything else out there, comparable to it?

I want something that has mp3 player where I can loose the ipod and just have one attachment plugged into the stereo system.

Thanks for any help.

I would recommend the Garmin Zumo 550. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. GPS, MP3 and XM radio and all weather proof. Works great.

I would love an Iphone, but have a Vu that I'm happy with.

WikD1, I'll check out the 550. Sure is a lot less $$$$.

I had the Zumo 550, but found it could not keep the navigation up to date when I used the MP3 feature. The Zumo 660 has no problems with this.

I suspect it is because all of my MP3s are encoded at 320Kb/Sec... So pretty big. If you encode at 64Kb/Sec the 550 might work fine.

But I love the 660... bigger screen is nice, better mount...

Hey philgrocks,

What mount are you using? I was leaning to the batwing mount on my Ultra, if I go the 660 route. Still looking and deciding. No hurry here, saving funds. :-)

I've got a Zomu 550, buddy's got a 660. Both are great.

The 660 has a larger screen than the 550 and a few new cool features. Figure out how much $ you want to spend and enjoy getting lost.

Finding your way home when you program the thing for, "no interstates, no highways" means you're traveling back roads and finding the best parts of America.

Enjoy the search...

Now that is a cool idea. My friend you might have just sold a GPS for Garmin.
