Default Ultra Passenger Footboard Problem

I just bought an 09 Ultra "Geezer Glide" and am VERY happy with it...except for an issue with the passenger footboards. I'm a big fat guy (6'1" 250lbs) and when I stand up on the bike (I always stand & set the front brake when momma or one of the crumb snatchers is climbing on, or off). Anyway, when I stand the passenger footboards ram into my calf muscles. I'm not sure an adapter to just move them back will work because it may cramp the ol' lady. I kicked around the kuryakyn site & didn't see anything. Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks

I am about the same size as you 6'2" 250 lbs. I dont stand but just hold the front brake and spread both feet to give some support. Either wife or son will not get on until I give them a nod to says I am ready. Works pretty good for me. Good luck.

just curious, why do you stand up?
seems you would be holding the weight of the bike by the handlebars.

I sit and use by big *** as an anchor.

Try sitting when your passenger gets on then you wont contact the rear boards. Your big enough and should have no problem. Well thats what I do anyhow.

It's just always seemed like it gave whoever is getting on more room if I stand up. I'll try sitting next time. Other than that it is an absolutely fantastic ride. I noticed you have one. Have you any issues or complaints with yours Hover?

The MoCo also makes adjustable mounts for the passenger boards. They give you several options of where to position them. Personally, when people get on and off my bike I keep it on the stand for simplicty sake, but that is just me. There is a solution to every problem you could ever come up with on your bike, that is for sure. The Kuryakyn adjsutable mounts are called

Adjustable Passenger Peg Mounts for H-D Touring

Their web site sucks, but I found them. Here are some by rivco. http://rivcoproducts.com/products/pr...cat=395&page=1

Have not found the hd ones yet but I know they are out there.

The only issue I have is the speedo acts up after a good wash job. Its gonna get a new speed sensor real soon and I hope that fixes it for good. Otherwise no issues, in fact this bike impresses me every time I ride it. I cant quit riding it!

The MoCo Adjustable Passenger Footboard Mount Kit is a pricey mod that only raises the passenger board up and down but doesn't necessarily get the board out of the way.

Just let the wife get on first, then you get on. Works for me.

I get on and lean forward a little and that gives wife all the room she needs to get on. She uses my shoulder to balance herself. I would think you will have more control in a seated position.
