Default 21" and 18" ME880 Metzler Tires Discontinued?

Just noticed my 18" Rear ME880 Marathon Metzeler Tire was showing major wear. Went to the local dealer to order a new one and found out it had been discontinued until an upgrade was made. Here in the middle of riding season! My dealer told me I was looking at atleast a month before this tire would be available and then there would be a rush on it and there was no telling when they would be able to get me a tire. Does anyone here know if this tire is available any place, or if any shop may have the old version in stock? I'm also wondering if I will have to replace the front tire to match the upgrade to the rear when it does become available? I'd also like to know what other tire brands make these sizes Front 120/70/21 and Rear 150/70B/18.? All help will be greatly appreciated.

Default Thanks for the replies!

They have only discontinued these sizes until an upgrade is available. So, far I have not been able to find and old one, or the upgrade. I just went over 10, 500 miles on these tires and need a rear bad. lol I will look up Hog Pro and see what they have. Thanks!

The upgrade will have a side wall reinforcement I have been told.

Isn't that what Hog Pro puts on their wheels? Wonder what they're going to go with in the meantime? Inquiring minds need to know.

Check with Dennis Kirk, Americanmototire.com and other internet retailers for tires. Someone has to have some. Hog pro is a good bet too.

Ripper43,

That is what I was thinking also, but I was hoping I was wrong. I hate to go to Avon, but may have to. Thanks for the information. Oh! has anyone ever ran the Avons? If so, how did they do milage and handling wise?
