i just put a 160/60/18 metzler on mine this weekn at the dragon fit no prblem

 

I thought the new ME880 XXL replaced them no?

 

I have no idea if the XXL replaced them, or not. I just know that my dealer said, "They could not get a Metzeler of this size for at least a month." And I have called several shops and they didn't have any and could not get a Metzeler in this size either. I have e-mailed American Motorcycle Tire and hoping to get an answer back from them tomorrow, but that will be a miracle. lol I am also still wondering if I do find the upgraded Metzeler will I also have to replace the front tire with a matching upgrade? Thanks for the replay.

 

I will be needing a new 21" front after my Colorado trip next week ..... i hope we can find out something soon

I bought a set of 21/18 wheels at a rally in Austin in June and they used Avon's on mine. So far they seem to be OK. I have no idea how many miles I'll get out of it, alot I hope.

 

My husband just went through the same problem with the Metz 18's a month ago for his Ultra Anticipating he would need new tires this summer he tried to order the 18 Metz but with no luck...yup, discontinued. Apparently and according to Metzeler, they will be out late summer?? with a new version

He contacted Hog Pro and was told that they have the same issue with the Metz being not available. Hog Pro said they are using Avons until then but had no date.

He ordered 2 Avons from Dennis Kirk but hasnt installed them yet. Probably near the end of the summer. Front Venom AM 41 130/70/18 and Rear AM42 150/70/18

Thanks to you all for the replies! Looks like I will be going with the Avons. AMT e-mailed me this morning and told me I could be looking at up to 6 weeks before the Metzeler would be available. Now I just hope the Avon Venoms aren't on back order. Would just be my luck! lol
