Question Bagger look on an Ultra ??

I posted a thread similar to this last winter , with poor results..so we try again.

When i start my '07 Ultra Classic rebirth project , i'm shooting for the "de chromed " CVO look. My hang up is the rear end. I want the smooth bagger look with recessed tailights in the fender & bags. 2" bag extensions is a must. The tour pak must stay being i already have invested in a tour pak relocator kit & installed. And all this must clear Monster Ovals which are big.

Summax & Bad Dad fender overlays say that that the stock tour pak mounts will not work. But i really like the smooth look. I thought of maybe gluing on the bag extensions with the monster ovals & getting a 2" extended fender and fabricating the filler panels to weld to fender. Then seam seal the joint. I can cut/roll simple panels at work.

If i have to , i can change the entire tour pak mount as long as it's further back than stock for wife. She's not big....but i use a backrest which takes away passenger room.

Bag extensions...can they be trimmed easily for bigger mufflers ?

DOT approved recessed lights ?? Most i've seen are not. I might have to have this bike recertified...so DOT is important.....i'm thinking.

I want to run a recessed fender taillight/brake with recessed license plate holder . Already burned out a spider web design to eliminate the stock license plate bracket. If must ,will run a LED version of stock light . Want to run recessed turn/brake in the saddle bags that will match the fender... and be bright. Then i will convert my tour pak lights to turn/brake/running if it's available.

Does someone make a light panel that goes in between the tour pak corner lights ?

All ideas , pics are welcome. Part numbers or links will be huge. THANKS MUCH

Yes , my wife and i survived with no broken bones. Treated & released within 8 hours at the hospital in Kearney,NE . Miricle we didn't get hurt worse. Our physical recover has gone well. On my tour Pak lid i had "In Memory Of Eric & Dawn " , 2 of our kids we lost in the last 4 years , Dawn from a rare lung disease (age 29) and Eric (age 34) from a boating accident. Both in the month of July ...one year apart. Our crash was July 27th ...one year ago....go figure. So we don't travel in July anymore. Not a reiligous man , but thinking they where watching out for us that day.

Metlife...the insurer of the cager that pulled in front of me have been doing there job so far. They took 100% responsibility for the accident. The paid us for ALL costs incurred at after the crash. Motel ,rental car, broken glasses , etc. The paid my buddie 100% for the totalled out trailer i borrowed. The did me fair on my totalled bike , which i bought back. Took a little coaxing to do that.

Only problem is that they will pay for all loss of work , 3 months for me & 4 months for wife , traveling costs to health providers ,medical bills ,etc , pain & suffering ,scar disfigurement...when we settle..and only then. So finacially right now we're really screwed...bad. But this too shall pass. Haven't attained a lawyer yet , but can when i feel the need. Have 4 years per Nebraska liability law to settle . Have a HUGE problem paying someone 30% for holding my hand. We'll see .

Meanwhile...pretty syked to rebuild this bike. Also looking for a painter to custom paint ghost flames in Candy Tangerine base. Want ghost murals of Eric & Dawn on the sides of tour pak...only to be seen at certain angles. Need them to keep watch over wife & i as we ride.

Had a year to redesign this bike in my head....in a couple months it will start for a winter project. If i start in the middle of summer...will never get done 100% because i'll want to ride again.

Default Ideas...

Try pairadicepaint.com for your paint. They do a great job and at a great price. In addition, I have a russ wernimont cat eye brake / turn signal, check them out.
