Just wanted to back hand the service guy today
So, I have a streetglide, I love the smooth look of it over a Classic. Well I chose to add rear bag guards to mine. Main reason was the inevitable fall and protecting those nice bags. And yes I have dropped the bike once already and slightly scratched a bag. Basically I just added the forward “d” rings.
Well, to make a story short I had a problem with one of the parts in the kit so the Parts guy and I went to service to talk to them. The service guy heard the story and the problem I was having and immediately said, “Why would you put bag guards on a SG, the entire point of a SG is to not have the chrome on it.” The guy said this in a very insulting way. Of course I am not one to bite my tongue. So I chimed in with “If you don’t want to help a customer with a problem you don’t have to be so damn rude”. At this point the parts guy and I chose to leave knowing this wasn't going to go well and we were wasting our time.
You know, I find that there are 2 kinds of people in the Harley shops/dealers, those that see you as a part of their income. Then others who could give a **** about you as a customer. The latter some how seem to act as though they are entitled and don't need to be polite.
Since my dealer has had a good parts department I will continue to use them. But every time I have walked back to service it’s always nothing but attitude. Shameful

I never understand anyone in any business that does something stupid to **** off a customer. It happens all the time in the couple of local HD dealers up in our area too.
Maybe the average mechanic in a HD shop isn't overly concerned with what the customer wants but what he thinks they should want.
