I have dealt with two different HD dealers, in two different states. I am still waiting to meet that mechanic that puts my mind at ease that they know what they are doing, and will treat my bike like it was their own. Not saying that they are all crappy mechanics, just saying that I haven't seen an exceptional one yet. For the price they charge per hour, they all should inspire the confidence in the customer that the work done on their bike will be nothing less than perfect.

I guess I am just not shy,or have a better relationship with the owner of our local dealer (Reno HD) because if I would be treated like that the first thing I would have said to the mech was go take a soaring intercourse at a gyrating pastry. Then went to the owner of the dealership and said if he wanted my busines stop that kind of bs. if it wasn't for you he wouldn't have a business. Just my opinion.

The bag guards are well worth consideration. I went with the guards and trim rails too.

Hey! I know that guy! He's one busy S.O.B. He works at your dealership, at a couple I use, most of the independents, all the car dealerships, the hardware store, & even for the contractor that remodeled my house (he *really* told me about my bad taste when it came to the paint colors I chose). I've developed a reply for him when he starts correcting me....... When you pay for it, you get to make the decisions. Until then my opinion is the one we'll work with!

Don't get too wound up about it. You'll run into that guy the rest of your life, no point in lettin' him bother you.

Maybe he didnt have a clue how to answer your tech question so he had to give you his opinion which is not a good idea when you have the personality of a stick. I have worked in this industry for several years and when I am asked for my opinion on something I explain that everyone has different tastes so what I like may not look good to them and vice versa. As the old saying goes, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one and they all stink.

F the dealership.. This is the attitude of most dealershits in my area and wont give them the time or money.. I use them to buy my bike and warranty work.. Everything else I do myself or if its bigger stuff I take to an independent shop.. Not only that, but there's always seems to be a long wait to get your bike back for simple services..

Your dealership may be different, this is just my experiences of the dealerships in my area for the last 15 years..
