Just put a deposit on a 2010 RK

just curious, the 10's haven't even come out yet. and there are those who claim to know what they're like, the dealer show won't be till the 23rd in denver. where they show the new models. sorta seems like you may have made a deposit on a mythical being, as they haven't even come out. just sayin, ya know? would the salesman allow me to place a deposit on a 2013? sure if he thought there were actually people who would do it. good luck and hope it works out for you.
I know it was a bit of a crap shoot putting a deposit on a bike sight unseen, but I think we are all 99% sure that the '10 RK's will look exactly like the '09's. Now, if the bike is released on the 23rd and it looks like a Honda Fury or something, I'll be pissed and demand my money back.
The sales manager used a dealer program called Lightspeed to see what bikes were coming into the dealership for the next couple months, then he was able to go in an modify a bike to my specifications. They had a '10 RK with the same color scheme coming in sooner, but it was non-ABS. The only thing we were unsure about was the wheel option. You could get laced spokes or something called "28 SPOKE BLACK" which we assumed was the same alloy rim as the 2009, but all black.
All I know is that I've been wanting a RK for a while and I held out until the 2010's to make sure any kinks with the 2009's were worked out.
Most importantly, I've been pre-approved by the wifey to get the bike!!!

I was a Glendale Harley 2 weekends ago and boy, they have A LOT of bikes sitting around. They're stacked to the gills. I saw a few RK's there. I like motorbikes. Congrats on the purchase. I came close to a RK, but ended up pulling the trigger on a Street Glide. See you around town! And like another poster said, come September, it'll still be riding weather.

Hello All,
I've been coming to this forum for about the last year to gather info on the HD touring models. I currently ride a Triumph Bonneville.
This past weekend I went to see my friend who is a salesman at Glendale Harley here in Socal and put a deposit on scarlet red and vivid black (new two-tone color for 2010) Road King Standard.
The bike should arrive in September.
I'm excited to join the HD family!
Best,
Alex
