Default True Duals or 2 into 1?

On my last trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway my right V&H slip-on turned yellow where it meets the pipe. I have decided to change things out but can decide on the true duals or a 2 into 1 does anyone have any info on what might be best, not looks but what would be best?

2 into 1 will always perform better than true duals.

Not exactly sure "what is best" means to you but I have true duals and am going to 2 into 1 for better torque and to get the most out of a 96" to 103" conversion. I am happy with the BUB sound and a little concerned about more noise from the 2 into 1 but am making the change anyway.
Good luck on what you decide is best for you.

Jonnyp, Your pipes turned gold because you have a bad tune or no tune at all. Did you use some sort of fuel management system or just the crappy dealership down load.

I removed my TD's and replaced them with a Fat Cat and the bike ran better and got better gas milage to boot.
