Default drilling ???

any one ever drilled into the inner fairing? if so is there any thing i need to look out for?

There's a ton of stuff back there! I wouldn't drill until I had the outer fairing off & cleared the space behind where you're going to drill.

take the outer off first, you will be surprised how much stuff is behind there.

Only from the inside of the fairing for fairing mounted mirrors and Hog Tunes Hog Pod; both provide templates and both provided for small pilot holes then the finish size.

Take the outer fairing off and inspect where you plan on drilling. Once that it determined then place a small piece of duck tape on the area in question and drill carefully with a sharp drill bit going very slowly. I did this to my color matched inner fairing for mounting a waterproof switch for accent lighting. It worked...................

Just a bunch of wires and stuff. Recommend using 1" auger bit.
