Default best way to remove a tank badge.

I was hoping someone had a good way to remove a tank badge without ruining the paint. I want to remove my 03 badge off of my gas tank. any suggestions?

Heat it up first, with either a heat gun or hair dryer

that's the way i removed many. First heat it up to loosen the glue then use thin fishing line and work it behind the badge nice and easy the thing will come right off and then WD40 will take off any remaining glue then wax tank.

Hair dryer and a closed twist tie to slip under badge, then pull slowly after badge gets hot.
Worked for me on a couple of bikes.

The HD tank badges are applied with double-sided tape trimmed to fit the individual badge. A hair dryer and dental floss has worked for me the couple of times I've removed them. The heat gun I have doesn't have a thermostat and will burn paint off metal, so it's never been near my bike.

with both of my last harleys that had that cheezy plastic badge on the tank, i've used dental floss. saw through the 3m type of double sided foam tape, that's all holds the emblem on. do it dry, cause if you use wd-40 first it lubes the dental floss sorta defeating the purpose. then after you've gotten the badge off, put them on the shelf so they can collect dust like all the other harley stuff you won't be using, then wipe down the tank side where the badge tape residue is with a soft cloth saturated with wd-40. work it a little and before you know it, you'll have the wax out polishing where the badge used to be. way easier to keep clean without that goofy looking piece of plastic.
