Default Tastefull or Tacky?

Need some help fellas. Not big into flames, skulls, etc......., but picked up a few powder coated parts tonight and with my consultant came up with the following idea. Went to the dealer and purchased the "Flame Collection", LOL, rather than putting in the Screamin Eagle trim ring that you see on a ton of bikes I decided to go with the insert below. My delimma is as follows. I can either leave the A/C insert as is or tape off the HD bar & shield and powder coat the rest black, or go all black. Going to tape off the bar and shield on derby and points cover and black the rest of those pieces. Just having trouble with the A/C insert as to what will look the best. I had a crash bar coated and will install it in the morning, so really leaning towards leaving the A/C insert as is. May not show in pics, but it does have some black outlines around the bar & shield logo. Thanks for any input.

I really like the look. Not bad.

I wonder if the 3-d embossed tank for the fatboy or heritage would fit our bikes? that would look killer on your bike now.

It would take an incredible ammount of detail work to powdercoat only the flames, but that would be the best option, in my opinion, if you plan to keep this cover. I had the flame collection on my bike in its first incarnation and the gold plating that is mixed in with the chrome flames, fades out badly.

I would find another style of covers with a little more black to balance out.

Staying with the stock chrome cover I went with the black SE trim ring, more contrast than the skull insert. Also put a tapered chrome billet spacer in the center (softail brake pedal adapter). You know what looks good, ya just gotta decide!
