Don't get me wrong Topper....You've still got a beautiful looking bike there. I really like the blacked out exhaust you're running.

I wonder if you applied a coat of grease to the flames with a Q-tip and then sprayed painted the cover black. That way after the paint has dried, you could easily remove the black paint on the grease, and then have your chrome flames with a black background.

Either way, the bike looks great to me as is......................
Not to shoot you down, but my Father had that idea on a VW I had when I was just started driving. We greased the wind sheild and painted away. The chrome cover may be easier to remove the grease but not so for the VW. I had grease in the rubber seal around the glass, grease in the wiper blades, you name it. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned... well you get the idea. It still had grease that would come out during rain until the day I sold it.

Your mileage may vary.

Just got them back from my painter. Did not powder coat b/c the A/C insert is plastic[8D]. Think they turned out pretty damn SWEET!

Yeah, I thought about that SeaHag, prolly gonna get a custom paint job this fall and will have that ring and the flames painted to match whatever direction I go with the bike. This was sort of a quickie, heading to the beach in the morning, so I had to get er done! Have not put Derby on yet still have one more appointment before I can get greasy. Here are some photos of the loud side.

Very nice!

You know Topper, those really look like 'black chrome'....Did you get that was simply wet black painting over the chrome finish?...if so, is it going to stick??? I also really like the look.
