I wonder if you applied a coat of grease to the flames with a Q-tip and then sprayed painted the cover black. That way after the paint has dried, you could easily remove the black paint on the grease, and then have your chrome flames with a black background.
Either way, the bike looks great to me as is......................

This was sort of a quickie, heading to the beach in the morning, so I had to get er done! Have not put Derby on yet still have one more appointment before I can get greasy. Just got them back from my painter. Did not powder coat b/c the A/C insert is plastic[8D]. Think they turned out pretty damn SWEET!

You know Topper, those really look like 'black chrome'....Did you get that was simply wet black painting over the chrome finish?...if so, is it going to stick??? I also really like the look.
