Ive always found that the question is usualy not Tasteful or Tacky. It is Tacky or JUST tacky enough to be cool![8D]

LOL, same here, hate to be tacky, but definately want to be cool. Would really like to black out the covers and leave the flames chrome, but way too much detail to have that done. Going to drop the covers off now, will be done by tonight, will post some pics later.
Thanks for the input. May have to change my name to Tacker!

I wonder if you applied a coat of grease to the flames with a Q-tip and then sprayed painted the cover black. That way after the paint has dried, you could easily remove the black paint on the grease, and then have your chrome flames with a black background.
Either way, the bike looks great to me as is......................

Just got them back from my painter. Did not powder coat b/c the A/C insert is plastic[8D]. Think they turned out pretty damn SWEET!

Yeah, I thought about that SeaHag, prolly gonna get a custom paint job this fall and will have that ring and the flames painted to match whatever direction I go with the bike. This was sort of a quickie, heading to the beach in the morning, so I had to get er done! Have not put Derby on yet still have one more appointment before I can get greasy. Here are some photos of the loud side.
