Default Amber bulbs

trying to locate some amber bulbs for my 09 SG
the oem bulb says GE 199F and D7
i matched it up to one from the autoparts store. but the metal base diameter is slightly too large and will no fit....

any help would be great...

better yet do you guys know of an LED replacement that you don't have to add any extra hardware....

BTW

no rain in 2 months here and all of a sudden i have a good weekend off and it rains for 4-5 hours both days...and lighting like crazy

I would think you could find them at any good auto parts store, but here's a link to a place that has a boatload of lighting products for your bike, including amber light bulbs.

http://www.customdynamics.com/motorc...ndescent_Bulbs

edit: oops went back and saw that you've already tried the auto parts route. My tongue must have been covering my eye teeth.

I just installed a set from J&P Cycles. Really like the look and the amount of light they give off. I went with the non fluted ambers @ 17.99 each, a bit pricey, and they look like the 1950's revisisted. People will better see you with the ambers.

That might mean you need dual filament, and got single... or the other way vice versa.

Default GE 199 F bulb

The Sylvania Longlife 1156 is the equivalent for the GE 199 F bulb that Harley Davidson Motorcycles uses for the back signals. Can be find in Pep Boys.

Got mine from j&p. A little expensive but people can see me coming, and they make riding at night a lot better.
