Default Elite 3S vs Michelin

I'm currently running Michelins on front and rear. I've been reading a lot of positive posts on the Dunlop Elite 3s. I'm looking for a comparison to the Michs; has anyone run both?

Thumbs up

Don't know how many can make meaningful responses to this, but I'll bet there are a lot of us anxiously waiting to see..........................

I'm curently E3's also, and loveum. I've heard the Michelin are a softer compound like the Met's 880's and don't last as long. But on the other hand, they stick the road really good.

I got the same miles out of Commanders than 402's Commander was a bit more quiet than 402 but i put a set of 402 this last time and they are nice and quiet...Trying E3 next time...$112.00...not bad. Worth the try because of all i hear positive about them,...

Just got a set of Michelins after running the 402's. They really do stick to the road, and are notibly quieter...but time will tell how they hold up. 8-9k on the 402's, so I'm hoping for more with the Michelins.

I've had Metzlers, Avons, Continentals, Dunlop 402's, and I'm on my third set of Elite 3's. I really like the handling, the longevity, and the price. Metzlers handled well, softer compound, much less mileage, and more expensive. Avons just didn't do well at all and neither did the Continentals. Dunlops 402's were pretty good but didn't handle as well, and didn't provide the life that I seem to get out of the Elites. I know this doesn't answer the Michelin question, but I'm now at a point where if it works, why switch? Do you really like the Michelin product? Is the handling and longevity what you want, and is the price right? Also, can you buy replacements almost anywhere you ride? These are the questions I ask when determining tires.

i'm totally sold on the dunlop elite 3 tires. all things i've experienced has been positive, no negatives at all. price/mileage/handling. the e3's work for me.
