Default Oil level on HOT check - keep at full? Will it cause oil in breather?

Hi All. Just did my first oil change on my 09 EGC and followed the instructions in the manual. Manual says to initially add 3.5 quarts of new oil. Measured 3.5 quarts and put it in. Test rode the bike and the oil level at HOT is exactly at FULL. I am doing a long ride in the next week and do NOT want the oil to be coming out of the breather. Is this too much oil? Should I keep it lower somewhere between ADD and FULL?
Had an old yammie that I kept the oil level at halfway between add and full or it would spray all over on a long hard ride. Wondering if this is the same on HDs. Where do you guys keep your oil level to avoid the oil coming out of the breather or is this not a problem at FULL.
Thanks
Conrad

Been running 3.5 qts in mine and in 15k miles its never wet itself yet. Trouble starts when the oil level is on the full mark when cold. You should be good to go.

3.5 quarts filled my 09 SG exactly full hot on the stand. If yours is full hot it won't come out of the breather.
