Wow, seems like $2k is alot of moola. I think i paid maybe $1300 but my memory.....

I just renewed for a another 3 years for $900 I think. My bike is in the shop now as we speak for 2 reasons. It would have cost me 4 man hours of labor for just the tracing. So, just in one month, I damn near covered the $$$$ of the extended warranty.

I say go for it. After all, as much as I love my Harley, it is a Harley.

Hmmmm... Interesting question. I'll pick up my bike next spring. It's coming with a 4 year warranty. I was asked if I wanted an additional 3 years (for $700, I think), but I passed. I figured I'll probably trade it before I've had it for 4 years!

I bought my 2003 RG in 2007 paid $1000 for the extended warranty. Bike had 37000 on it Figured that it wouldn't take much to get money back. Have had the fuel guage replaced twice and a oil primary drive leak repaired, and the head light assembly replaced. Got my moneys worth. Would do again on a bike with any milage on it. You don't know for sure how it was treated.

Thanks for the posts...

Up here in Canada for an extra 5years, it's $1256+$397 for the tire coverage. Because l would buy it 90 days after the bike was purchased add $225. Gotta add 13% tax, would come to $2122. Guessin the tire coverage isn't worth it...

Trust me, read your contract, some of them aren't worth spit...
This is from a Claims Adjuster's point of view.
Sorry but you are DENIED...

Bought it on my last two Ultras. NEVER used it, NOT EVEN ONCE. I doubt I'll ever buy a ext. warranty again.

I got the 7 yr one cuz I routinely log 30,000 miles a year. I figure in 7 yrs I'll have over 200,000 miles on her. Am I likely to have an issue by then that needs attention? Probably yes - at least a top-end??? So for me it will pay for itself. Not to mention the tire/wheel coverage.

My previous bike at 92,000 miles was supremely reliable and this one so far has been 100% flawless at 17,000 miles. But things do happen and with the miles I ride it's worth it for me.

Yup....money well spent. Shop around at the different dealers for the best price. Also, the warranty is refundable if you decide to cancel it...such as when you sell the bike...or you can transfer it to the new owner. I say, go for it.
